Packaging Systems Engineer

Education:

You should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering. If your degree is in Packaging Science you will only be considered if you have extensive (5 years plus) hands-on experience working with high speed packaging equipment in a production environment.

Experience:

Significant experience with high-speed food & beverage packaging operations is essential. Solid technical understanding of packaging equipment systems is necessary. Experience with all aspects of high-speed beverage packaging is highly preferred including filling, capping, labeling, multi-packing, case packing, conveying, coding & palletizing. Exposure to different package formats is preferred including PET bottles, cans, glass, caps, cartons, corrugate cases & trays, shrink film, stretch film, vacuum packs, pouches, bags, & totes. Experience with aseptic filling is a big plus.

You should possess at least 2 years relevant packaging industry experience.

Skills:

Strong written & verbal communication skills are essential.

Very strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word (complex formatting) and MS Excel (complex multi-sheet workbooks with macros) is essential. Knowledge of MS Project & MS PowerPoint preferred.

Concise technical writing ability required.

Team player with ability to get on well with others required.

Duties:

  • Design & evaluation of new packaging equipment systems
  • Development of plant layout drawings
  • Performance of plant trials on new packaging materials and packaging machinery
  • Development of technical documentation to support commercialization of new packaging equipment systems and packaging materials
  • Analysis of performance of packaging equipment systems
  • Package quality testing with associated statistical analysis
  • Writing of technical manuals
  • Preparation of installation bid specifications
  • Overseeing of contractors performing site installation

Location & Travel:

This position will be based at our office in Rochester, New York. However, significant travel within the USA may at times be required to meet our project workload.

Senior Process Engineer

Education:

You should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

You should have significant experience managing all processing & mechanical utility aspects associated with multi-million dollar food & beverage processing or packaging projects.

Significant experience with food & beverage processing and packaging operations is essential. Solid technical understanding of processing and packaging equipment systems is necessary. Experience with all aspects of high-speed beverage processing is highly preferred including blending, pasteurization, sterilization, filtration, concentration, storage systems, CIP & SIP together with all mechanical utility systems (steam, condensate, tower water, chilled water, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, etc.)

Senior Electrical/Controls Engineer

You should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

You should have significant experience managing all electrical aspects associated with multi-million dollar food & beverage processing or packaging projects. This will have included both power distribution and controls.

Significant experience with high-speed food & beverage processing and packaging operations is essential. Solid technical understanding of processing and packaging equipment systems is necessary. Experience with all aspects of high-speed beverage packaging is highly preferred including filling, capping, labeling, multi-packing, case packing, conveying, coding & palletizing.

You should possess at least 5 years relevant food or beverage industry experience.

Senior Packaging System Engineer
